ITINERARY
DAY 01 – AGRA SIGHTSEEING
Our driver will pick you early in the morning at 06:00 AM from your home or hotel in Delhi and you will reach Agra by 10:00 AM to meet your tour guide in the parking area who will take you to the Taj Mahal in the beginning of this tour. You will get more than two hours inside the Taj complex to capture memories and you should check-in into your hotel after this unique experience. You can rest for some time before going out for lunch in a well-known restaurant and the second part of the sightseeing will start after lunch.
Agra Fort would be the next destination of this sightseeing that was built by emperor Akbar when Agra was the capital of Mughal empire in India. You can spend more then one and half hour inside this fort to explore important places such as “Diwan-I-Aam” and “Moti Masjid” where every tourist loves to click photos. You should visit a handicraft workshop in the evening if you want to buy something for your home and if you want to taste some delicious local dishes then Agra’s vibrant markets such as “Sadar Bazar” would be good place to explore. DAY 02 – MATHURA SIGHTSEEING
You should check-out from the hotel after having a delicious breakfast and start travelling towards Mathura which is 60 kilometres away from the city center. The sightseeing tour will begin with your visit to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi followed by Dauji Mandir and Dwarkadhish Temple where you should spend some time in a very divine atmosphere. You should take a break for lunch after visiting these famous temples in Mathura before attending prayers at few more temples that are included in this itinerary.
The next destination of this two-day trip would Vrindavan and the sightseeing will start from Prem Mandir and Shri Banke Bihari Mandir which is the most visited temple in Vrindavan. You can also visit ISKCON Temple, Pagal Baba Temple and Nidhivan Temple if you have time. Now, it is the time to start your journey back to Delhi which is 160 kilometres away and this road trip will take three hours. Mathura and Vrindavan are the two cities that are the birth place and play ground of Lord Krishna and this is the reason most temples are dedicated to him in these cities. Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple should be your first destination during this tour as this is the birth place. Banke Bihari Temple which is located in Vrindavan is the one of the most visited temples here and it is well known for unique kind of darshan. Prem Mandir that is made of marble is also very famous and most people also visit ISKCON temple in Vrindavan. You can have your lunch in the afternoon or visit Nidhivan which remain open where you will find many holy trees and ashrams. You can also utilize afternoon hours in travelling if you are coming from Delhi or Agra. Darshan timing also keeps changing based on the season and you should be ready for minor adjustments of 30 minutes to an hour.
The winter months from October to March when the temperature remain between 10-25 degree Celsius is the best time for this tour as you will find a pleasant weather to comfortably explore all the places and temples. This time will allow to walk in the narrow streets of Vrindavan comfortably and attend prayers at famous temples. If you want to attend the famous festival of Holi then it would also be possible in the month of March but prepare yourself to face heavy crowd. Monsoon months are also good as you will be able to attend Janmashtami festival in the month of August. You should generally avoid the summer months of May and June as very high temperature might disturb your experience during these months.
Two days are more than sufficient to explore all these cities very comfortably as these cities are well connected via National Highway. It is recommended to visit Agra on the first day to explore Taj Mahal and you should move towards Vrindavan on the second day via Mathura to visit some of the famous temples. This tour will give you good amount of time to explore heritage sites in Agra and you will also be able attend prayers at temples in Mathura and Vrindavan. You can also complete this journey via Yamuna Expressway to save some time that you can spend to visit a few more temples.
