Frequently asked questions about this tour
Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest tiger reserves in India that has a very large population of Bengal Tigers. Zone number 1 to 5 are the most prominent as these zones have large populations of tigers and water bodies where animal movement is very common. Zone number 3 is the most famous because it has Padam Talao and Ranthambore Fort that increases your chance of spotting a tiger. Most wildlife photographers love to explore zone number 5 because of frequent movement of tigers near a beautiful lake. Zones 6 to 10 are buffer zones where you will see good natural beauty but you will get less chances of seeing a tiger. You need to remember the fact that no one can guarantee that you will spot a tiger during this safari as they may roam freely anywhere in the forest.
The months from October to March are always good to visit Ranthambore National Park due to pleasant weather and comfortable temperature for the tiger safari but hot weather in the months from April to June forces tigers to frequently visit water bodies and this increases the chances of spotting a tiger in this dense forest. Most areas of the park will remain closed in the months of July and August due to monsoon but some zones might be open depending on the rainfall. You will get good pictures of birds in morning safaris but there are high chances of spotting a tiger in afternoon safari. Most foreign tourists visit India during winters making these months the busiest and this is the reason you need to book this tour in advance as the availability is limited.
Safari timings in Ranthambore National Park keep changing depending on the month of your visit and it also happens in two separate shifts. The first shift starts early in the morning which is good for bird watching and the other one start in the afternoon that has a better chance for spotting a tiger. The morning shift operates from 06:00 AM and evening shift operates from 03:00 PM in the months of summers from April to June. The morning shift starts at 06:30 AM in the month of October and February to March and evening shift starts from 02:30 PM in the afternoon. If you are vising in winter months from November to January then morning shift will start at 07:00 AM while you can enjoy the safari at 02:00 PM in the evening shift.
There are many differences between a Jeep and Canter Safari in this national park such as the comfort level and your experience of viewing the wild-life. A Jeep has a seating capacity of 6 passengers and offers more private experience while a Canter can carry up to 20 passengers which most suitable for a large group. A Jeep is also more comfortable and offers better visibility of wild-life while a Canter has basic seating arrangement. Jeeps are more suitable for photographers, couple and families but the cost is little higher while a canter is good for budget travellers and large group of tourists. The forest department has allocated same safari zones to both type of vehicles and your chances of spotting a tiger depends on the selected zone, timing and experience of the guide.
The itinerary of Golden Triangle Tour with Tiger Safari is highly customisable and we would be more than happy to change it according to your preferences.
